Regional Plan Association

Regional Plan Association (RPA) is a 100-year old urban planning non-profit. I helped refresh and renew all their digital communications - from a website redesign to social media management - to help the organization reach broader and more diverse audiences.

RPA is influential in the halls of power, but struggles to spread its ideas to audiences beyond policy wonks and insiders. I was hired to change this dynamic. In 2020, I oversaw a website redesign that refreshed RPA’s identity, simplified its call to action, and reorganized its vast content archive. Web traffic tripled, the amount of visitors arriving from social media quadrupled, and younger, more diverse audiences became more familiar with RPA.

Afterwards, I served as web editor and social media manager, drafting all the organization’s social media content and a majority of its web copy. Over three years, I tripled RPA’s Instagram following, doubled its LinkedIn following, and established a TikTok presence for the organization. In addition, I regularly drafted blog articles, press releases and a monthly newsletter, and copy edited whitepapers and reports.

The new site looks fantastic. It is a modern platform for the organization that is much better suited to the mission.
